Every trip requires some preparation beforehand to assure success and traveling during the months of November and December you may need to do a bit more preparation than usual. The weather will vary depending on your destination.
For us we start preparation at least 6 weeks in advance depending on the destinations to assure to maximize savings during the trip. A trip like everything in life will require work in advance. If you wait until the last minute you’ll be exposed to more stress than you should and would cost you more money and time.
A list of questions to ask yourself to pick your travel destinations:
- First Determine: Where are you planning on going?
- What’s your budget ?
- How will you get there? By airplane, driving, boat, train or bus.
After determining this you are ready to choose your days.
I know you will think this is obvious but believe me sometimes we try to skip steps to see if we can make things faster or get things out of the way and this will give you stress at the end.
According to where you are going, one then has to pick the specific locations they want to visit or activities you want to do. For example, we went to France and we prioritized visiting the La Louvre museum. We researched on the official site the days and times according to what days are open and as well in Europe there are certain days in the week and times museum entry is free for everybody. We recommend researching on the official sites for any deals and see if you can fit those days into your itinerary.
Places to Stay
For places to stay: Hotels, airbnb, hostels, at a friends place, home exchanges etc. are some options we consider looking into. Once again, according to your budget you can choose the place you will be staying for some time for your best convenience, safety, and personal comfortability. For example, we are always looking for a place that is central to the activities we are planning to do, other times if we will be moving to different locations, a place that has easy access to transport.
When you travel in the USA, public transport is not equal in every state. You have to be prepared to drive with your own car or to rent a car. If you go abroad you probably can choose to use public transportation or rent a car as well. Keep in mind renting a car could be expensive internationally and you must be careful to not break any laws. The last thing you want is to yeal abroad.
Hope these tips help you plan your next trip!
Remember if you go prepared doesn’t mean nothing happens but planning will minimize your risk.
